On October 22nd, 2002 the Kennedy Family’s youngest son Paul, age 22, died as the result of a tragic automobile accident on the job.Paul donated eight of his organs and tissues to improve the quality of life for eight other individuals.
In memory of Paul, his family and friends created Paul’s Team. The primary focus is and will continue to be raising awareness of the need for organ and tissue donation. Each year in Canada there are over 4000individuals in need of transplants. Canada has one of the lowest donation rates in the world.
In recent years, the team has expanded its focus to include other worthwhile causes such as Project Upstream in 2009 (community mental health support) and the Shepherds of Good Hope (support, living & health services for less fortunate adults) in 2010
