The Paul Kennedy Team

This is the 9th consecutive year for the Paul Kennedy Team to enter a team in the Ottawa Race Weekend.

The Paul Kennedy Team was created to honour an incredible young man while promoting his gift to others – Paul donated eight of his of organ and tissues to eight individuals. There are approximately 4,000 Canadians waiting for the gift of life – many of which await a heart, liver, lungs, kidney or small bowel transplant, etc. Nearly one- third of those awaiting these major organs will die, without a second chance at life.

The Main Focus of Paul's Team is to raise awareness for the urgent need of organ and tissue donation in Canada, and throughout the world. To think of others and donate one’s organs and/or tissues is truly a compassionate and selfless act. Please join with us and "Open your Heart to Organ and Tissue Donation". Register today to be an organ and tissue donor at -- http://giftoflife.on.ca

In addition, the team raises funds to assist other charities. These organizations are daily facing increased demand for their services with very limited resources. This year we are supporting two charities:

1) The Shepherds of Good Hope - provides food, shelter & support services for the homeless within our community. To donate to Shepherds of Good Hope in Paul’s memory, please go to http://www.shepherdsofgoodhope.com/

2) The Canadian Jumpstart Program for kids –assists financially disadvantaged families in getting their individual children aged 4-18 involved in sports & recreation programs. To donate to Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program for kids in Paul’s memory, please go to http://www.canadiantire.ca/jumpstart/

All donations collected go directly to these two charities.....no administrative fees are taken from our donations.
