Our Cause

Organ & Tissue Donation:

There are approximately four thousand Canadians waiting for the gift of life – many of which await a heart, liver, lungs, kidney or small bowel transplant, etc. Nearly one-third of those awaiting these major organs will die, without a second chance at life. To think of others and donate one’s organs and/or tissues is truly a compassionate and selfless act.

Paul’s team was created to honour an incredible young man while promoting his gift to others – the gift of organ and tissue donation. Furthermore, the creation of Paul’s team provided the Kennedy Family with a means to thank the Ottawa Hospital Staff for their tremendous support when Paul passed away.

The Focus of Paul's Team is to raise awareness for the urgent need of organ and tissue donation in Canada, and throughout the world. Please join with us and "Open your Heart to Organ and Tissue Donation".

Other Charities:

In recent years, the team has expanded its focus to include smaller charities. These organizations are daily facing increased demand for their services with very limited resources.

• 2009 – Our focus was on raising awareness of mental health issues and generating funds to assist “Project Upstream” in providing a range of support services to persons with mental illness.
• 2010 – We raised funds to support the ongoing activities of the Shepherd's of Good Hope. This organization provides support, living & health services for the less fortunate men and women in the Ottawa area.
• 2011 - The team supported the Shepherd's of Good Hope who provide ongoing support for the homeless in our community. Paul's team also supported the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program which helps less fortunate kids participate in organized sports.
